Background Generation replaces your product’s backdrop with a new scene, so one photo becomes a full set of on-brand visuals.

What it does

Upload a product photo and Background Generation builds a new environment around it, from a plain seamless backdrop to a styled lifestyle scene. The product itself stays untouched — only what surrounds it changes. There’s nothing to type; the look comes from your inputs, not a text prompt.

Inputs

  • Product image (required) — a clean, well-lit shot of the product. See Product Images for prep guidance.
  • Reference image (optional) — a scene, backdrop, or lighting reference that guides the new background’s style.
  • Model selection (optional) — if the scene should include a person, filter by gender, ethnicity, or body part.

Required: Product image

The item to feature. Sharp focus, good lighting, minimal clutter.

Optional: Reference image

Sets the mood, setting, or lighting for the new background.

Tips

If your product photo is lit from one side, pick a reference scene with similar lighting so the product doesn’t look pasted in.
Run a 1K test to confirm the background direction before spending credits on 2K or 4K variations.
A plain, distraction-free product photo gives the model the cleanest edges to work with when building the new scene around it.
